I wanted my bubble letters to be unique and have a lot of detail so I added the lines on the inside of the letters so the bubbles would become almost 3-D and “shiny”. I chose to do the first name lowercase and the last name uppercase because I’m stupid and forgot to capitalize the “J”. I think the little ‘j’ at the start looks like a deflated balloon and I really like that look for it. I also really like how I made the dot after “jr” round like a bubble. I listened to chill love songs while I made it and it was relaxing and chill. 😀

For my online art, I found 4 Rocket League Players and took pictures of their cars to show off their each artistic style. Maybe to your surprise, most of them look very similar and use a very similar color. This is because a very popular professional player just won the world championship for the first time and some of the very top players like him were using these car colors. These players decided to use the same colors to sort of theme themselves as a pro player. The two on the left have a light orange and white car frames along with white wheels, practically the same design. The one in the top right goes with a more simplistic design, taking the orange down a shade and getting rid of the white frame for the default black. The bottom right takes a huge turn and is a completely different design theme. They have a plain red with 2 white stripes going down the middle along with a small white trip above the wheels. The wheels they chose are black, the frame of their car is black. The bottom right one goes with a way more simple color choice. I think the creativity of someone’s Rocket League car can speak a lot for who they are. It’s hard to explain but the two on the left shows me someone who wants their car to be very flashy and bright. The top right one shows that someone wants class yet not to be over the top with the small detail. The one on the bottom right shows that they see beauty in simplicity and enjoy a simple, non-flashy design that still looks nice to drive. I just wanted this gallery to show the ways that some players choose to design their cars in Rocket League! 😀
Here is my VLOG: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/590755814 (Audio issue in the beginning, I talk about it after I fix it mid video)
The goal of my video was to be genuine and show what I really do during my day. Act normal and talk normal to the people I normally talk to and just be myself and show off what I do.
I accomplished my goal greatly I think because my friends that support me showed up to the stream and talked in the chat which gave me people to talk to and I found myself responding how I usually would. Maybe next time I won’t have an audio error in the beginning and remember to not mute my mic before I start the VLOG.
My favorite YouTuber is probably David Dobrik. He’s a Vlogger and he’s just an insanely awesome human being and I aspire to positively impact the world as much as he has.
He’s just a great person with a great sense of humor. He does things that are really funny and stupid but also does wholesome things to help people.
The lessons I can learn from David Dobrik is being yourself, having fun, surrounding yourself with good people, and helping others and smiling.
Authenticity is how genuine or true / real you are. If you’re putting on a persona, I don’t see that as being authentic to who you are.
Performance is when you put on a show to entertain others. Some streamers have authenticity, some use performance personas to entertain.
I think they’re opposites, a performance usually doesn’t contain authenticity unless you’re doing “performing” something you would do. If you’re doing things you wouldn’t do just as a performance, it’s not authentic. They exist together rarely.
The clip in the studio is more performance because he’s live in front of an audience that he has to entertain and there’s just a different feeling between being right in front of someone and needing to entertain them and being on video needing to entertain them.

Experience
The experience was relaxing. Since I couldn’t do this project with anyone because of this quarantine and social distancing for everyone, I decided a neat twist I could put on the project to make me not “alone” exactly was I listened to a song while I did it. So I listened to Sam Smith – To Die For while I did that and I just tried to focus on the song and let my hand move however it wanted to while listening to the music. So I guess this art piece could be titled the name of the song because I guess this is what my brain thinks about that song. It was fun and relaxing.
Results
I like how my piece came out. I first started to wonder why I made lines in certain places. I wonder if they have like a certain pattern or curve because of how the song made me sway or if those outlier lines are lines in the song that stuck out that I liked or were high pitch or something. But yea, I’m happy with the results and it was a fun little project to work on and see how my brain and hand reacted to just sitting and listening to the song and moving however.
I was trying to think about how much I love having Linda in my life, how much she means to me, how she makes me feel, what I know I can count on her for, and what makes me happy, and a bit back to when we first met.
The process was that the idea for what I wanted to make the song about popped into my head while I was talking to her, I told her that I had to go do something and that I’d call her back, I was inspired by talking to her and hearing her beautiful voice and laughter, So right away I went and made the song and the lyrics got sent from my heart to the page.
It was difficult because I wanted the song to be great and I was really surprised with how good it came out. I love the song I wrote and I was really proud to show her the song and I’m glad she loves the song too.
I think the song is really successful in it’s mission of reminding my girlfriend that I know and think about how beautiful and amazing she is at all times and that I look forward to our future and I will never forget how important she is to me.
I think 100% I will make another song someday in the future, I love music and songs, and I would love to be a good singer / song writer, I’m not great at singing but I do still enjoy it and enjoy thinking of my own song lyrics.
I couldn’t tell you what my other songs would be about, it would just have to come to me at the time. I had no idea I would be writing about what I did until 2 min before I started writing it.
Love by Day, Love in One Night (Lyrics)
By John Morago
Verse 1: Anytime I’m feeling down, I know that soon you’ll be around, there to tell me to stand up, there to tell me don’t give up, there to tell me what I need to do… because I need what I want and what I want is you…
Chorus: The real you, it’s what makes me smile, the real you, it’s what makes me happy, the real you, is the only person I need, to be me.
Verse 2: I’ve loved you since I met you, and I love you more each day. There’s nothing I love more than seeing something done the Linda way. Never want to get used to you, an entire life to be with you, a beautiful home, a kid or two, my life with you will always feel brand new, from day one I knew…
Chorus: The real you, it’s what makes me smile, the real you, it’s what makes me happy, the real you, is the only person I need, to be me.
Verse 3: Thank you Linda, you’ve given me a life that I couldn’t imagine ever having. This short song I made is for you and I hope you know you will always be the girl that makes me happy. These past 3 years have been the best time of my life. I knew since the first night but just in case you always told me. Now it’s time for me to tell you, that you’re beautiful now and you were then too, sincerely, John, you’re future husband, I love you.
I would like my life to be 70% Romanticism and 30% Realism. The 30% Realism is the needed realism that lets me take care of myself and my responsibilities in life such as an education and steady income. The 70% Romanticism is the joy out of life. Romanticism is needed to be happy and think positively. Realism is too sad to be the only thing we think about in life. I think as long as you have enough Realism to take care of yourself and your family and loved ones. You should then have the rest of your life be Romanticism because having a Romantic attitude makes life fun. You can’t be serious all the time, it’s good to joke around about things even if the thing you’re joking about is actually a serious issue. We can’t sit down and worry about all of the bad things going on at once because there are too many and if we worried about them all the time, we would never have any time to ourselves to enjoy life or smile or be happy for ourselves.

So I decided to do this fun project with my girlfriend. We were thinking of where to go and what to wear and we thought of going up to the snow. This was my first time in the snow and I already had the snow clothes ready to go, the gloves I’ve never worn, the hoodie with the fur that I never get to wear, and the pants etc. These were all things that I never wear but was perfect to wear up in the snow. We didn’t take any photos with strangers we talked to because they didn’t really seem like they would’ve wanted to plus it would’ve been weird at the time to ask.
Most of the reactions were pretty nice, no one was really rude or mean or clearly didn’t want to interact with us at all. It did seem like they didn’t exactly want to answer any questions though and that’s understandable because of the location, I assume most of them just wanted to enjoy their snowy weekend vacation and not answer some small survey from a college kid.
The names that were guessed were: Jake, David, Andrew, Dylan, and finally the last person I talked to actually got my name right, they guessed John. This was probably because I think I look like a John and it’s a really common name.
The majors that were guessed were: Biology, Zoology, Communication, Political Science, and the last thought I was an undeclared. That answer threw me off but it was funny to hear because I wasn’t expecting them to essentially not pick a major.
No not really, people acted pretty normally as I thought they were going to react. Pretty normal conversations and nothing stood out too much. I’m pretty used to talking to people so I think the conversations went smooth.
My conclusions about the experience was that the snow is awesome, talking to people is fun, I had a great time, and want to go back to the snow. The experience of talking to people I don’t know was pretty casual since I’m used to talking to people that I know very little or not at all.
Art can be anything. Art is things or people or anything we find beautiful or of value. We give things artistic value. Art can be nature, it can be man-made, art can literally be anything. This does NOT mean that everything is art. Art CAN be anything, yet not everything is art. We decide what holds artistic value.
Aesthetics is the pleasurable visual features of something. You could also say that aesthetics is something’s sensible beauty. We sense aesthetics and we enjoy them. Aesthetics doesn’t have anything to do with ethical beauty.
Beauty is something that is beautiful. There are different types of beauty, sensible and ethical. Both are valuable and beautiful and they are connected in odd ways. Something may have sensible beauty purely because of it’s ethical beauty. It’s ethical beauty is so grand that no matter what it looked like, it would have sensible beauty. Sensible beauty can be a blockade towards gaining ethical beauty when it comes to people because while it isn’t always true, sensible beauty in the world of 2020 values can get you a far way even when you have no ethical beauty.
Sensible beauty is beauty we sense with our senses, sight, smell, etc.
Ethical beauty is beauty from inner morals or thoughts, etc.
Plato thought beauty was objective and had nothing to do with the perception of anyone viewing the beauty. Things held beauty simply because they had beauty and no matter how anyone saw it, it still had that beauty.
Aristotle thought beauty was found in action and stillness. He thought there was beauty within our actions such as reading, writing, and drawing. His idea of beauty was all about the perceiver, or the person performing the beauty.
Kant thought that beauty was entirely through sense and had nothing to do with emotion towards the object in question. He thought beauty was a feeling, we had to feel that something had beauty, it could not just be an objective feature of an object.

Artist: Madeline Kincanna Exhibition: Politico Media: Dry point etching Gallery: Dr.Maxine Merlino Gallery Website: N/A Instagram: N/A
Madeline is an undergraduate student that is part of the BFA Printmaking program in the CSULB School of Art. She’s interested in many things such as political issues, landscapes, and nature. Her work explores ideas such as difficult political opinions that people today are nervous to talk about among each other or the beauty in nature / landscapes. However, for this gallery, the work that really spiked my interest and sparked a conversation between the artist and I was her political works. I could tell they were very opinionated and on subjects that people like to avoid which made me excited to talk about them with her and see what she was thinking when she made them.
Her work was bright, very metaphorical, the texture was smooth and appealing for your eye to settle on it, except for the sparkly detail on some of the more small and important parts of the work. She used very eye popping color with very recognizable representations inside. The art was best viewed at a medium distance but there were some fine details you needed to stay for a while to recognize such as the upside down American flag or the Russian flag behind the president.
These works of hers are about politics and issues that the media pins the left and right against each other on and makes us unable to have conversations with each other about it. This creates two sides and makes us both very defensive and communication difficult. What was on her mind was that she was tired of constantly hearing the media talk about all the crazy things going on in the government and that’s what made her realize that they were acting like a circus, doing silly things instead of being our example of reason. She wanted to explore ideas people are afraid to talk about, like political issues going on with our country.
I loved the exhibit, political cartoons have always been one of my favorite things in art. I could see from our talk what the artist was thinking and what her work meant to her and why she felt the need to make it the way she did as well as explain it the way she did. I do disagree with some things that she said having to do with the current president but I did 100% agree with the circus she drew over the White House. That was hilarious and great to see someone who also thought they were all acting crazy over there right now. It was nice to talk and relate to someone who I know ultimately wants the same thing for the country as me, yet we disagree on certain things that are touchy subjects, but I was still able to enjoy the work and understand her side to it all. And that is what her work is all about, even if you have a different opinion, this is her opinion and she wants to have a conversation with you about the political issues that the country is deal with because most people don’t want to talk about anything going on in our government today even though it is very important and some crazy circus-like things are going on right now. I really enjoyed her work and the two things we came together the most on during our great conversation was that the White House is acting like a circus right now, and that, as her caption on that piece reads, it IS still our circus. Even though they are out of line, we shouldn’t abandon, we should realize where we are going wrong and correct. The gallery walk around was great and I enjoyed it a lot, I hope to see more political work next time I go.
